small groups and Connection groups... What's the difference and How do I get involved?
Whether you are new to Grace Baptist Church or were one of the families that met in the building next to the car wash over 20 years ago, you might be wondering what all the talk is about Grace Groups. You might be wondering what the differences are between a Small Group and a Community Group. Well the wait is over, check out the answers below!
What is a small Group?
Small Groups are how we connect here at Grace Baptist Church. Some groups are discovery groups where its members are out to discover who God is (for example, Alpha), most are growth groups where its members are growing their faith in Jesus (most home groups), and some are service groups whose members are serving others (for example, the worship team).
A Small Group is:
- voluntary and an intentional gathering of four to twelve people.
- meets together regularly as a fully-functioning biblical community.
- shares a goal of assisting each other in growth toward Christ-likeness and extending His love to the local community.
What is a Connection Group?
A Connection Group is also a Grace Group and a place where individuals connect to one another on a Sunday morning.
- It is a voluntary, intentional gathering of 13 to 60 people.
- Meets together regularly on Sunday mornings - attend a worship service during one hour and a Connection Group the second)
- Shares the goal of learning to become fully-developing followers of Jesus Christ.
